Reentry

Hi all. I guess I've been here before, though I can't remember it. I'm sorry if I jumped ship on any of you, and I hope to be able to stick with it this time (though I don't remember not sticking with--nevermind...). So very awkward. Anywho, I'm Ollpheist or "Ollie" or "Zom" or "Rob" or "Heyyoushutyerface!" Whatever trips your trolly. I chose "Ollphiest" because it's what I use on other forums, and it's Gaelic for "Monster," which fits with many of the characters that I like to play (or at least, that's how the character sees themselves).

I've appreciated roleplay since I was on a forum called the Napping Cat's Dream some years back, though it sucked and it died not too long after I joined. On a whim, I decided to look for forums this morning, saw the link on Bing's search results had been clicked, and that caught my interest. I was never into the tabletop RPGs, just play-by-post. I prefer that, since I'm also an aspiring author. I'm looking for a group of people here who aren't obsessed with furries and turning every thread into (literally) a positive or negative statement on homosexuality, as it seemed to be with the forum I was previously on.

I tend to like science fiction and action roleplay threads that run the vein of The Expendables or Jonathan Maberry's Patient Zero. If you don't know what Patient Zero is, it's a great zombie novel that you should read (it's also like 24 meets Resident Evil). I am obsessed with zombies, so I'm definitely on the lookout for zombie threads. Anything post-apocalyptic will do, really, so long as it avoids "phasers," "laser guns," and anything in the science fiction realm that smacks of Star Wars or Star Trek. Aliens just aren't my bag.

As for my hobbies, I do a lot of writing. I'm currently working on three novel series, three memoirs, two spin-off books, and a catechism. I haven't been published yet, but I'm hoping to change that before the end of next year. Outside of that, I'm a gamer (mostly FPS computer games and Xbox), and something of a medieval history nut. I also like amateur chemistry, because watching stuff blow up is always fun.

So yeah, that's me, pretty much, though if you want to ask a question, I consider myself an open book. Come in; I don't bite unless asked to. Have a cookie.
